Not much sun, but great rain chances later next week!

If you were planning on getting a suntan this week, “forget about it!” From today through Friday, it will be mostly cloudy with a chance for drizzle, fog, rain and thunderstorms. Tonight and tomorrow morning we will see a chance for some showers and thunderstorms as our wimpy front moves through. No changes on where most of the precipitation will fall…mainly along and east of I-35 and I-37. Victoria and points to the east have the best chance of seeing over half an inch of rain.

Monday-Wednesday will be cloudy with a chance for drizzle in the mornings, with lows in the 50’s and highs in the 60’s and 70’s. By Wednesday night our low pressure to the west of us over Mexico, will start sending some disturbances our direction as it slowly moves NE into Big Bend and eventually into north Texas by the end of next week. Rain odds and totals will start ramping up from Wednesday night through late Friday, with most models predicting 1-4 inches of rain (less in the western counties and more as you go east). By late Friday, a Pacific cool front will wipe the cloud slate clean, clearing us out for the weekend.

We could see more rain the first week of February, along with a shot of some more cold air…at this time, snow and ice are not in the forecast.

Have a great rest of your Saturday!

Mark
