The heat is on!
The Victoria area wins the heat index lottery this afternoon with heat index temperatures in the upper teens and low 120's. Air temperatures are over 100 degrees for most locations and are expected to rise even higher tomorrow and Wednesday.
No real break in the weather until late this weekend when an inverted trough moves in from the Gulf. At this time, rains odds will be higher in the coastal plains and the coast, but there will be at least a chance for some scattered storms in south and south-central Texas along with a slight easing in temperatures.
The tropics remain very quiet in the Atlantic, while the Eastern Pacific see lots of activity.
