While a lot of you missed out on the heavier rain this morning, such was not the case for Bastrop, Caldwell, Hays and Travis counties, where over 3 inches of rain has fallen in spots. As I work on this post, rain is still collecting in gauges up in that area. My weather station in NW Bexar County recorded 0.63 inches of rain and Comal County has also done well with some lucky folks receiving over an inch of rain.

Another short-wave disturbance is on the way from Mexico and should arrive in the SW counties around sunset this evening. The main part of the energy will move through from 10pm-2am, with counties to the south of HWY 90 and the coastal plains possibly getting in on this rain event as well. I don’t see much, if any rain south of an Eagle Pass to Victoria line.

Skies will clear tomorrow morning, and temperatures will rise into the 80’s ahead of our next front, which should move through the entire state by Thursday morning. Lows on Thursday and Friday will be in the 30’s and 40’s, with freezes possible in the Hill Country. We will see a quick warmup into the 70’s on Saturday before an even stronger cold front moves through, dropping our lows into the 30’s and 40’s on Sunday morning and even colder on Monday, with a chance for some widespread freezes in south-central Texas!
