We are still seeing a few showers in south Texas as I make this post and a couple of spots have actually recorded 1/4- to 1/2 an inch today. For south-central Texas, the clouds are parting, and temperatures have moved into the upper-50’s and low 60’s.
A dryline moves through tomorrow and we should see temperatures approaching and exceeding 80 degrees…there could be some record highs recorded by the end of the day. Around midnight, our strong front moves through, shifting our winds to the north, along with some gusts exceeding 30mph.
With calming winds on Tuesday night, look for many areas to experience their first frost and freeze by Wednesday morning. It will be another cold morning for Thursday before we see a fairly quick warmup by Friday. Temperatures will bounce back to the 70’s for highs as we keep our fingers crossed for our next chance for rain during the week of the 15th. For now, no arctic air in site, however the latest GFS thinks some is possible around Christmas. Knowing the GFS, I would expect a completely different outlook by tomorrow!
