Perhaps a light at the end of the tunnel?

I'm starting to feel good about our rain chances for the last week on the month. As I have talked about over the past couple of days, a trough will form over the eastern half of the US this week, producing an upper-level low on the southern side of the trough. That low will drift SW into the Gulf, then head west into Texas by next weekend. This will favor the coastal plains and coast for rain, but as it moves west, we should see an uptick in rain for south and south-central Texas. At the end of the month, the latest GFS model run thinks a tropical wave could move in from the Gulf, enhancing our rain odds again.

Even the CPC is raising our rain odds on its latest 8-14 day outlook.

Hang in there!
