It’s complicated!

In the short term, we are in between two systems...a cool front in west Texas and a low pressure offshore of the upper Texas coast. Radar picks this up pretty well, with most of the activity today to our west and far east Texas and Louisiana.

The front is forecast to go stationary around San Antonio on late Saturday or Sunday, then remain in the same position for several days, until a backdoor booster front arrives later next week. While the front will not do much for lowering our temperatures, it will continue our daily rain chances. We will see good rain odds on Monday, but the best chance for rain next week will come when the second front moves down, from Tuesday-Thursday.

Meanwhile in the tropics, there is a 20% chance for the low off the upper Texas coast to turn into a tropical something over the next 7days, but the main disturbance to watch is the one in the Atlantic that now has a 40% chance of becoming a storm. Most of the models are forecasting this low to become a storm by the end of next week, then moving into the Gulf. What happens from that point is still too early to tell, so we will just have to wait until the Hurricane Center finds a circulation and begins to show tracking data.

I hope you guys get some rain, but not too much to spoil your weekend, fortunately, the bigger rains will wait until after the holiday!
