Yet another hellish day in Texas, with actual temperatures hitting 112 degrees in Del Rio so far this afternoon! I'm seeing a couple of tiny pm poppers on radar forming over the Hill Country as I send this post out...whether any rain will hit the ground with this heat before evaporating, is debatable. I've noticed in the past that when our temps get into the upper single digits, it's fairly common to see a few poppers forming from the brute force of heating what little moisture is in the atmosphere. I hope a few of you actually see some rain! There will be another chance tomorrow afternoon as well.

Temps will slowly ease over the next 5-7 days as a couple of disturbances move in from the Gulf along with an inverted trough. This should increase our rain odds next week and knock our temperatures back into the 90's for highs. The latest Canadian model thinks the trough will turn into a tropical something and drop lots of rain later next week. For now, it is an outlier, but as warm as the Gulf is right now, nothing is impossible!
