The Hell High is about to take a beating next week!

For those of you "marked safe" from this week's scorching temperatures, you'll be happy to know that I'm still seeing 90's for highs and a decent chance for rain next week, thanks to an inverted trough and some disturbances moving in from the Gulf. Our Hell High will move to the NE, allowing for more seasonal weather and a daily chance for sea breeze storms next week. The Canadian model continues to think a tropical something will move into the Port Lavaca area around mid-week, dumping a ton of rain as it moves inland. It's still the outlier, but worth keeping an eye on it...especially since the Gulf is so warm.

Meanwhile, with an old frontal boundary in NE Texas, along with the high heat, we could see more storms this afternoon and Friday afternoon. Yesterday saw a few rain lottery winners in the Hill Country, including over an inch near Spicewood!

As we approach Labor Day, there could be a chance for a trough to develop over the plains, potentially sending a cool front southward. While the odds of it making to south-central and south Texas are still slim, it could be yet another rainmaker.
