A chance for rain today…

Unlike yesterday, when only a handful of models were forecasting a chance of rain, all of today's models are on board, even though the storms will be very scattered and rainfall totals will be light. An MCS is currently moving south out of East Texas, where its cluster of storms have dropped some decent rain totals to an area that has had plenty of rain over the past month. Some of these storms may graze our eastern counties this morning as they move south. Because of this system, outflow boundaries (cool air aloft) from the storms will be the potential ignitor of storms this afternoon for our area. These will be PM Poppers that could form almost anywhere, although most likely in and around San Antonio and the Hill Country, then moving south.

No surprise, it will be another hot, humid and smokey day with heat warnings and advisories already in effect. As the Hell High sets up in the western states over the next few days, I'm hoping the smoke and humidity will decrease. Models are still looking bullish for a frontal passage early next week. More on that tomorrow!

Storms from an MCS are moving south this morning. Some of our eastern counties could see some rain from these storms. An outflow boundary from the storms will potentially form new storms for us this afternoon.
