Congratulations to a few of our rain lottery winners from yesterday...locations around Victoria recorded over an inch, as well as a couple of locations in Val Verde and Edwards counties. Unfortunately, most of us saw nothing but less hot temperatures, thanks to morning outflow boundaries. I think those same boundaries stabilized the atmosphere and kept afternoon thunderstorms limited to far western counties.

Looking down the weather road, I see lots of heat over the next few days with a slight lessening of humidity as the Hell High builds over the western USA. We may hit 90 degrees today where I live, at 8000 feet in the mountains, in SW CO.

On Monday, models still think a rare June cool front will move through, giving us a slight chance for rain and cooling down our high temperatures to around average. As for a widespread rain event, I'm not seeing one for at least a week and the tropics remain stormless as well during that time.

I'm hoping to find some better news over the next few days...hang in there and stay cool!

A “less hot” front will move into Texas on Monday, giving us a slight chance for rain and lowering our temperatures back to normal highs for June.

Nothing happening in the tropics!

Lots of smoke from Mexico and Central America continues to stream into Texas.
