It’s still hard to sort this situation out! We have a front in NW Texas and a dryline in west Texas that will all be playing a part in our weather over the next 48 hours. For today, look for an impressive line of storms to form this afternoon over the Serranias del Burro mountains of Mexico and west Texas. The Mexican storms will make a run for the border and some of the storms could make it into the western counties of south-central and south Texas by tonight. The storms that form in West Texas will also make a run to the east and could impact our northern counties by tonight as well. As has been the case over the past few weeks, the best odds for rain over the next 48 hours will be north of a Del Rio to San Antonio to Houston line.

On Saturday night, the front will drift a little further south into west Texas and along with a disturbance, should give us a pretty good chance for storms Saturday night and Sunday. As I mentioned yesterday, a mini-Hell High moves into south Texas on Monday, drying us up and turning on the heat for next week, before a front moves through next Thursday night with another chance for rain.
