As of 4pm, tropical storm Francine is still avoiding Texas and is tracking even further east than 24hrs ago. The latest track now has her turning into a Cat1 Hurricane before moving inland SW of Baton Rouge tomorrow afternoon. The only impressive rain totals of 2-4 inches, have fallen in far south LRGV in and around Brownsville.
Looking down the weather road, there will be a disturbance moving in from Mexico over the weekend that will primarily impact the LRGV again along with south Texas. The further north you go, the less amount of rain will fall. For south-central Texas, if you find a tenth of an inch of rain in your gauge, consider yourself lucky!
The latest GFS model run thinks we could see a cool front with rain around the 20th, but the other models disagree, as of today. Meanwhile, 70's and 90's will be our lows and highs for the foreseeable future.
