I'm using today's forecast high temperatures in Philadelphia and Kansas City to predict the final score in tonight's Super Bowl game! Eagles 42-Chiefs 37. If you win big on my prediction, please share!
Meanwhile, back in the weather world…we have a “state divided” by a stationary cold front. Temperatures at post time are in the 40’s-60’s behind the front and 70’s-80’s to the south of the front. We’ll see little to no movement of the front in the next 24hrs, but by Tuesday, it should lift back north into central Texas. At the same time, a trough to our west will send some disturbances our direction, increasing our rain odds through Wednesday ahead of and along a strong front that will finally sweep through the entire state. The latest models are slightly more positive for more widespread rain than prior runs, along with moving rain a little further south. FYI: There will be a chance for thunderstorms with this event.
Look for temperatures to drop into the 30’s and 40’s on both Thursday and Friday, with our coldest temperatures on Friday. We could see most of south-central Texas dealing with a freeze!
Enjoy the game tonight!
Mark
