Rain odds continue to look good for next week!

After a chilly start, most locations have rebounded to the 50’s and 60’s this afternoon. Morning lows were generally in the 20’s, with a few teens in the Hill Country. Along and near the coast, lows were in the 30’s and 40’s.

Tonight should be our last subfreezing night for most areas, with lows on Saturday mostly above freezing. Our next front will be very wimpy compared to what we have seen over the past week, but it should hopefully give us a chance for some showers and thunderstorms Saturday evening and early Sunday morning. As I posted yesterday, the best odds for rain will be along and east of I-35 and I-37.

Next week, a mid-level low over the SW will send some disturbances our way, giving us a good chance for more rain from Tuesday-Thursday. Here’s what our SA-Austin NWS has to say about our rain odds: “This system looks to have more moisture to work with, with the NBM model showing widespread totals of over an inch of much needed rainfall over our area. High and low temperatures look to be well above freezing so this will stay a rain event. We could see some instability build leading to thunderstorm development as moisture and warmer temperatures move into the area as this system approaches. One thing is for sure, we will welcome any rain we can get because we definitely need it.”

Have a great rest of your day…

Mark
