A very chilly morning with lows in the 20’s…but there were a few pockets of teens and even single digits over the Hill Country! FYI: We dropped to -11 in SW CO this morning and -16 yesterday morning!
NWS lows from south-central Texas this morning: IEM :: PNS from NWS EWX
NWS lows from south Texas this morning: IEM :: PNS from NWS CRP
Lows will continue to drop into the 20’s and low 30’s through Friday, but fortunately our highs will reach the 50’s for most locations. By Saturday we get a return of SE winds, ushering in more clouds and moisture, ahead of our next front on Sunday. Rain odds will increase Saturday night and Sunday as the front approaches. This will be a mild front, lacking any arctic air, so we won’t have to worry about wintry precipitation this time around. Right now, it looks like most of the rain will fall along and east of I-35 and I-37.
By the middle of next week, models are forecasting an upper-level low to develop in the SW, then tracking east later in the week. As of today, this low is looking very promising for dropping some widespread rainfall over our area. With this event almost a week away, as always, models will be changing their minds…but for now, I’m feeling optimistic.
How low did you go this morning and where?
