Poof! Any thoughts that a tropical something in the Caribbean would head into Texas are totally gone as the wave now has a 0% chance of becoming a storm. A very strange start to hurricane season so far, with the Eastern Pacific now up to Fabio in its named storms, while the Atlantic is currently at Debby, with nothing brewing in the next 7 days. While there is still time for Atlantic to kick up the pace, this is certainly not what should be happening under a La Niña pattern.
We could see some scattered storms in the northern counties over the weekend as a front takes a slight dive into Texas and a NW flow might put a slight dent in the high pressure. Other than that, more of the same, except for some coastal pm poppers. The GFS model continues to show more activity for the end of the month, but no tropical systems impacting Texas.

Poof!
The GFS model thinks we could start seeing some rain the last week of August.
