Cut-off lows can be fun!

A fairly tranquil week ahead, then turning more entertaining from Thursday through the weekend! A cut-off low will form in far southern California and norther Baja, then move slowly eastward over a five- day period. This low will not only send out disturbances but will allow a couple of fronts to move through during that time period. The result will be decent rain odds along with cooler temperatures…no freezes though! While not a drought breaker, some areas could see more than an inch of rain from this system by the 20th. We are still almost a week out, so the models are nowhere near a consensus in regard to how much rain will fall.

Our first chance for rain will come on Thursday, ahead of and during the arrival of our next cool front.

Below are the latest model runs for rainfall from this Thursday through the 19th.
