A good chance for a storm to form next week in the Gulf.

Let's talk about our tropical something!

In the short term we will be looking at some great temps with lows in the 50's and 60's and highs mainly in the 80's through Tuesday.

By Tuesday, it is starting to look like our tropical wave will turn into a depression as it interacts with the cold front, south of Brownsville, in the Gulf. As the week progresses, most of the models are tracking it north, then NE, giving Texas a glancing blow of rain, mainly along the coast and coastal plains, before it moves into the Port Authur area or Louisianna on Thursday. At this time, it appears that the depression may grow into a tropical storm or a weak hurricane before it goes onshore, but until the experts at the NHC start tracking it, it's hard to know based on the latest model runs.

For now, if you live within 50 miles of the Gulf, you should prepare for some hefty rainfall totals of 3-5 inches and in some areas, approaching 8-10 inches.
