More rain and chilly temperatures are on the way!

While certainly not drought breaking totals, it was great to see that many of you found 1/10 to over a 1/2 an inch of “bonus” rainfall overnight and this morning in your rain gauges. The main event starts with the passage of our next cold front tonight to cool things down, then more overriding moisture from the SW starting on Friday, from our Baja Low. As the low moves east, look for several disturbances to ignite not only some showers, but a few thunderstorms as well. As we all know by now, convective activity can lead to a few lucky lottery winners finding 1-2 inches of rain in their gauges over the weekend. The low will track to our NW on Sunday and by the late afternoon, most of the rain should be east of I-35.

Temperatures will be chilly from Friday night through Sunday morning with lows in the 40’s and highs only in the upper 40’s to low 50’s….very similar to what the Pacific NW sees most of the winter!

On Monday we do a quick warmup into the upper 70’s ahead of our most powerful front of the season that should come through on early Tuesday. By Wednesday morning of next week, we could see a decent chance for a freeze over much of south-central Texas.

Please let us know if you found some rain in your gauge over the past 24hrs and your location.
