You know we have arctic air around when temperatures are still below freezing for many areas in the Hill Country at 3pm! There were a few reports of snow flurries early this morning. If you saw some, let us know.

Look for temps to drop into the teens over much of south-central Texas and 20’s for south Texas tonight. There are freeze warnings for south Texas and extreme cold warnings out for south-central Texas. If the clouds don’t totally part, we could see lows a few degrees higher than forecast. Winds will continue to blow out of the north, with gusts to over 20mph, so wind chills will drop into the single digits and teens on Thursday morning!

Thursday will warm up into the 40’s for most locations, then with clouds moving in tomorrow night, lows should be mainly in the 20’s and 30’s. On Friday, a coastal trough develops, giving the southern counties of south-central Texas, south Texas and the coastal plains and chance for rain late Friday and Saturday. Depending on the timing of when light rain moves in, there could be some light icing in the Hill Country, but odds are very low.

Sunday lives up to its name with sunny skies and temperatures warming back into the 60’s…by Monday we hit the 70’s again!

I’ll have an extended forecast tomorrow…temps will continue above normal and there is a chance for some more rain around early March.
