Still a lot of ifs ands or buts, but the latest model runs continue to look bullish for a rain event over the weekend and possibly into early next week. In the short term, a dryline will approach from the west tomorrow, but the atmospheric cap over south-central Texas is forecast to squelch any thunderstorm develop over our area. That will not be the case for central, north Texas and Oklahoma tomorrow, where they will see a chance for severe thunderstorms.
Later this week, a cold front will approach, and may or may not go stationary for a few days in central Texas. The front, along with a disturbance in the west, will be the setup for showers and thunderstorms from late Thursday through the weekend, and possibly Monday of next week. I’ll have daily updates on this rain maker this week as the forecast becomes clearer.
