Rain comes back starting tomorrow..

Rain odds return tomorrow as the dryline in West Texas makes a run to the east on Wednesday and Thursday. There are some storms in West Texas and Mexico this afternoon, but they are not expected to make much eastward progress. On Friday, a dying cool front will make a run for south-central Texas, then go stationary through Sunday. This will ramp up our rain odds yet again. As I mentioned yesterday, the best odds for rain will stay north of a Del Rio to San Antonio to Houston line, but that doesn’t mean south Texas won’t see any rain….in fact, the GFS model thinks there will be some big rain totals along the border! As usual, there will be a chance for severe storms on Wednesday and Thursday, but for now, the greatest odds will be in West Texas.

For fun, I’ve included some model info from weathermodels.com, including bar graphs for San Antonio and Austin for the GFS and Euro. I use info from these models to give me a more pinpoint idea of future weather events. I have also included the pro version of Pivotal Weather for south Texas and north central Texas. Don’t worry, I’ve also included the normal model runs for the state of Texas from today through Sunday!
