While there is still a tiny chance for rain on Thursday, our next rain event will come around March 7th-8th, but the models are still all over the board.

Meanwhile, it was another gusty day with winds exceeding 40mph in many locations. These winds throughout the state are fanning the flames of some horrific fires in the Panhandle. As of this post, the Smokehouse Creek Fire has burned over 850,000 acres of land and is only 3% contained.

Below are the latest greatest model runs for rainfall through March 8th. I had mentioned that I would have my latest long-range forecasts for March today, but the CPC won’t be releasing their forecast until tomorrow, so I’ll share that along with some long-range model runs for March at the same time.
