I feel so badly for those who have been impacted by Helene...the videos of destruction and flooding are horrendous. I know we want some big rains around here, but let's never forget about the potential outcome when hurricanes move through.

For us, continued late summer temperatures in the mid to upper 90's this week, with lows in the 60's. There were quite a few 50's in the Hill Country this morning...with the dry air in place, at least our lows are feeling a bit more Fallish!

Some moisture will try to move into the LRGV and along the coast later this week as a coastal low develops. As of this post time, there continues to be a 50% chance for a cyclone to form over the Gulf this week, but current steering currents will keep it away from Texas. At this time, this potential storm looks like it will stay much less powerful than Helene...let's hope this continues.

For all of you "Cold Front Watchers", the latest GFS model is teasing us with predicting a decent cold front on or around the 15th...let's see if it continues to do so over the next few days!
