It's Showtime!
At 9am, we are starting to pick up our first radar echoes just north of Freer...movement is north. As the day progresses, storms will start forming rapidly around noon and by early afternoon, most of south and south-central Texas will be impacted by showers and thunderstorms.
The very heavy rains will likely occur in the coastal plains over the next 48 hours (up to 10 inches is possible), but I still think that even the northern counties of south-central Texas will see 1-3 inches from this system by late Friday.
Below is all of the latest info from the NWS, along with close-up views of how much rain the NWS is forecasting through Friday. You'll need to know your location, since unfortunately, these graphics do not show individual towns and cities. I have also included a wider view as well.
There is a chance for severe storms from this system...with hail and high winds the primary threat. As always, please tune into your local NOAA weather radio or emergency app for individual warnings for your location.
Fingers crossed for everyone to see some drought easing rains over the next few days!
