Get ready for the Saharan Desert!

Oh boy! We are going from a rainy week to a Saharan Dust week! A large plume of dust will roll in on Wednesday and hang around through Friday. For all of you with respiratory issues, this fine dust is nasty on the lungs as well as the eyes. Check out my blog for an animation of the latest dust model run.

Meanwhile, just hot and muggy weather ahead in the short term, with high pressure in control. The latest Euro model thinks we will see a weakness in the high pressure around the eighth, leading to a potential rain event...the other models are not so bullish.

There is now a 50% chance for a tropical something to form in the Atlantic over the next 7 days. As of this post time, most of the models are taking this storm towards Florida or the NE and not into the Gulf...but this far out, it certainly bears watching.

I'll have a monthly rainfall wrap up in tomorrow's post...most of us did very well for July, with the exception of counties to the SW of San Antonio.

Saharan dust will be arriving on Wednesday…cough, cough.

There is a 50% chance for a tropical something to form in the Atlantic over the next 7 days.

Best odds are for this potential storm to stay out to sea.
