Alberto should be born today in the Gulf, then will make landfall into Mexico by early on Thursday morning, just north of Ciudad Madero Tampico.

Since my last post yesterday afternoon, there has been a change in potential rainfall totals from this storm due to high pressure over the east coast moving further southwestward than originally forecast. Because of the change, higher rainfall totals will be pushed more to the south of San Antonio. I still think the Hill Country will do well, but not the lake filling totals that it needs.

The best odds for rain will be during a 24hr window from Wednesday afternoon through Thursday afternoon. There will still be a chance for scattered storms through the weekend, especially south of San Antonio.

There is a chance that another system may form in the southern Gulf over the weekend, but for now there is only a 20% chance it will form over the next week.

I'll have another update later this afternoon.
