It’s confusing…

Ok, since there isn’t a lot of weather to discuss today, let’s dive into a very confusing issue…South Texas vs South-Central Texas! As many of you know by now, I try to include both regions, but it gets confusing trying to figure out where these regions begin and end.
In my mind, the map below does a good job of presenting the different regions of Texas:
However, the National Weather Service divides our state into these zones, based on cities. They refer to San Antonio as “South Central Texas” and Corpus as “South Texas”. The reason I use the NWS regions for my posts is because they have different forecasters and data, and it gets pretty darn confusing at times. Please know that I really endorse the map above as a true description of the regions of Texas and I wish the NWS would divide their forecast offices the same way.
How the NWS divides up our regions in Texas, with San Antonio being “South Central Texas” and Corpus being “South Texas”.
OK…back to the weather! Other than some fog and possibly some drizzle, tomorrow morning, we won’t see any rain chances until Wednesday, when our next real front arrives. There could be a few thunderstorms along the front, but this is not looking like much of a rain maker…the best odds are counties to the west of San Antonio. Temps will lower into the 40’s for lows and highs in the 60’s for highs through the weekend.
We could see better chances for rain starting around Christmas, but given the crummy models lately, I’ll wait until next week to get enthusiastic. Speaking of next week, the latest Christmas day forecast is for highs in the 70’s and 80’s with a chance for light rain.

Certainly no arctic air in the latest 8-14 day outlook, but better than 50/50 odds for above normal rainfall.
