It's Showtime!

A stationary front is draped on an Eagle Pass-Kerrville-Temple line as of post time. This old front will drift slightly SE this afternoon, touching off some potentially severe storms around sunset from San Antonio to Georgetown. Biggest threat will be hail and high winds. There is currently a Tornado Watch for counties to the NE of Austin. I imagine that there will be a Severe Thunderstorm Watch issued for counties mentioned above later this afternoon.

Later this evening, as an upper-level low over Arizona pushes east, it will spark a broken line of severe storms forming in Mexico, then tracking eastward during the night. There is a good chance for severe storms to impact south-central Texas from midnight though sunrise. Again, the biggest threat will be hail and high winds, so if you can make room for your car in the garage, I would strongly recommend doing so! As I have mentioned most of this week, south Texas will likely not see much activity from this storm, but I would still recommend tuning to your local NOAA radio or emergency apps just in case some of these storms form further south than forecast.

A much stronger front moves through tomorrow, sending our lows into the 30's and 40's by Sunday morning.

Good luck tonight...I hope this is more of a rainmaker than a hail maker.

Feel free to post videos or stills if you get any hail or flooding rain!
