Lots of depressing data today! The latest drought update is out and no surprise, with no rain so far this month, out drought is expanding again. The latest seasonal updates are out from the CPC and they are forecasting a dry and warmer than average winter ahead. The latest seasonal drought forecast is out and it's predicting an expansion of our current drought! It looks like it's going to be the Yankees vs the Dodgers in the World Series! Yikes!

OK, fortunately, as you know from reading my 2024-25 winter outlook that I'm not feeling as negative on our rain chances this winter as the NWS. Wait, you haven't read my forecast? Look above this post and you will see it eagerly waiting for you to read it!

Yes, in the short term, it's more of the same, but I still think we will see a more active pattern change by the end of the month. This won't be enough rain to make up for the rest of October's dry spell, but every little bit helps. I also think we will see something closer to our average rainfall in November.

Below are the gloomy details, but I've also thrown in some positive model runs into the mix as well!
