A couple of wimpy fronts and a slight chance for some rain.

12-22-24. 3pm. This Update is brought to you by 5E Trailers in Marion. They’re here to help you find the perfect trailer at the best price! https://www.5etrailers.com/

For the holidays, some of our sponsors are letting me post a photo of them so you can see the faces behind the logos! Today it’s the Ellis Family, from 5E Trailers. We thank them for their gracious support and hope that if any of you need a trailer, they are your go-to place.

Looking at the latest model runs it would appear that we will be experiencing a “Ho Ho Hum” week ahead. We have a slight chance for some showers tonight and tomorrow, then another chance on Tuesday, when our next wimpy front limps through. Another wimpy front slides through on Thursday, giving us a slightly better chance for rain, but still pretty crummy odds unless you live east of I-35 and I-37.

As advertised over the past week, look for a sunny and warm Christmas, with highs in the 70’s and 80’s! It looks like we could see a real front around New Years Day that could drop our temps back to freezing for lows and highs in the 40’s and 50’s. As predicted, the GFS model is no longer forecasting a chance for snow from this front.

Looks like Santa may be doing some fishing instead of delivering presents on Christmas!

Forecast highs on Christmas day.

Here’s how much rain these models think will fall between tomorrow and the end of the year. Click on images to see them larger.
