Happy Winter Solstice! From this point forward, our daylight hours will start getting longer.
There is a good chance for rain east of I-35 and I-37 over the next week, but not so great if you live west of there.
From the NWS:
The first of 3 storm systems this week arrives late Tuesday. Low end chance for some strong storms Tuesday evening. - Second system arrives Thursday, bringing a better chance for rain to eastern areas (Hill Country and eastward). - Third storm system arrives next weekend, bringing yet another chance at rain and storms.
As of today, it looks like our Christmas will warm, but without much, if any humidity behind Tuesday night’s cool front. Highs will be in the 70’s and some 80’s in south Texas and lows in the 50’s. We stay mild through the end of the year, then we could see a strong cold front around New Years. In case you see anyone posting that there is a chance for snow on January 4th, just remember that you are seeing one model run (GFS), and at the very end of its run! I’m going to wait and see what it and the other models are forecasting over the next few days before I start getting anyone excited. As of right now, none of the other models are mentioning the “S” word!
Have a great Saturday evening!
Mark
