A cool down, then warm again!

The models did pretty well with today’s system, with the bulk of the rain staying north of a Del Rio to San Antonio to Houston line. Looking over the latest NWS remote sensors, it appears that the Hill Country and around Austin had some of the higher rainfall totals, with some exceeding an inch! My weather station in NW Bexar County only recorded 0.19 inches of rain.

Our strongest front of the season arrives early Wednesday morning with some NW wind gusts approaching 30mph. Upper 30’s and 40’s will be the norm for most of south-central and south Texas on Thursday morning, but a few low spots may get close to freezing in the Hill Country.

No more rain events for at least 7-10 days as high pressure will rule the day. Look for high temperatures to unfortunately rebound to the 80’s by Sunday. We may see a slight cool down from another wimpy front by Thanksgiving, but most of the latest model runs are forecasting a warm Turkey Day with highs in the upper 70’s to low 80’s.

How much rain fell at your place and where?
