Red Flag warning today…

3-8-24. 9:30am. This Update is brought to you by Bahia Services and Rentals in Port O'Connor. Rentals including Trash Dumpsters, Portable Toilets/Restroom Trailers, Hand Washing/Sanitizing Stations as well as Generators, Light Towers, Cooling-Warming Stations, and other rental equipment.

Red Flag Warning for this afternoon for most of our area.

Despite a cloudy, foggy start to the day, we are starting to clear out as a Pacific front moves in from the west. A second front to the north will merge and usher in cooler temperatures by this evening as we see most locations drop into the 30's and 40's overnight. Unfortunately, as has been the case most of this winter, the upper-level low that will drop some rain, snow and thunderstorms across the Panhandle and north Texas today, will only send us more wind and low humidity, hence the need for the Red Flag Warning.

Highs tomorrow will be in the 60's for most areas and temperatures will drop into the lower 30's on Monday for the Hill Country (you might want to cover any newly planted veggies) and 30's and 40's for the rest of the area. We'll see another cool morning on Tuesday (lows in the 40's) before we see the heater turned on again later in the week, when 90's move into the picture by Thursday.

I'll dive into the long-range outlook tomorrow...stay safe and watch out for fires!

Red Flag warning until 8pm tonight!

An upper-level low that has dropped 4 inches of snow at my place in SW CO, will move east today, only ushering in dry air (in yellow) for south-central and south Texas.
