I think I may have found a cold front!
The latest greatest model runs are forecasting a decent front to arrive early next week, with a possible booster front behind it a couple of days later! We could see some 40's in the Hill Country for lows and highs in the 70's and 80's on a couple of days during the workweek. I'll have more details tomorrow...unfortunately, these look like dry fronts.
Meanwhile, Monstrous Milton has gained strength again this afternoon, back to a CAT 5 hurricane with sustained winds of 165 mph. There is still a chance that drier air and some wind shear right before it makes landfall tomorrow will reduce it to a CAT 4 or 3 hurricane, lessening its storm damage a little. Either way, this will be a horribly destructive hurricane.
From the NHC:
Milton's wind field is expected to expand as it approaches Florida.
In fact, the official forecast shows the hurricane and tropical-storm-force winds roughly doubling in size by the time it makes landfall. In addition, the stronger-than-normal winds could
occur on the northwest/back side of the storm since Milton will be
interacting with a frontal boundary and beginning extratropical transition. Damaging winds, life-threatening storm surge, and heavy rainfall will extend well outside the forecast cone. This is a very serious situation and residents in Florida should closely follow orders from their local emergency management officials. Evacuations and other preparations should be completed today.
Milton has the potential to be one of the most destructive hurricanes on record for west-central Florida.

A couple of back-door fronts may move through around Monday or Tuesday, then later in the week, next week.
Unfortunately, the cool front or fronts will be dry ones.
