Mainly hot this week with temperatures in the upper 90's for most of south-central Texas and low 100's along the border. Smoke from Mexico and Central America will continue to keep our skies hazy and our air quality in the yellow and orange levels. See graphics below.
The dry-line will spark a few storms, especially on Wednesday afternoon, in Mexico, and a few of those may reach Del Rio and the western Hill Country, which would be very welcomed! Otherwise, a passing trough will stay too far to our north to do us much good...although a few northern counties might get lucky.
This weekend looks even warmer, with temperatures hitting 100 degrees for many locations in south-central Texas and approaching 110 degrees along the border. Even if you don't hit the century mark, the heat index will make it feel over 100 degrees most of this week.
Better chances for rain will come later next week, but being over 7days away, I'll wait and see how the models handle the odds as the week passes before getting excited.
