A warm and sunny Christmas or a warm and wet one?

12-19-24. 2pm. This Update is brought to you by Davy Ranch Supply in Yorktown, TX. davyranchsupply.com

For the holidays, some of our sponsors are letting me post a photo of them so you can see the faces behind the logos! Today it’s Davey Ranch Supply in Yorktown. We thank them for their gracious support. They sell livestock handling equipment such as squeeze chutes, adjustable alleys, crowding tubs, and scales. They also have a wide selection of gates and panels in stock to serve your specific needs. If they do not carry what you need, they do have customized options, too.

Looking over the latest model runs, and we could see some showers and thunderstorms on Christmas Eve or during the day on Christmas, thanks to a trough that will be sweeping through Texas. The timing is yet to be determined, so the storms could arrive on Christmas Eve or hold off until Christmas day. The one thing that is certain…it will be a warm Christmas day with highs in the 70’s and 80’s. In the short term, look for 40’s for lows and 60’s for highs through the weekend, then we move to the 50’s and 70’s (and some 80’s) for next week.

Looking further ahead, the models are still hinting at another chance for rain between Christmas and New Years. As of today, The Euro and the GFS are thinking that we could see a strong cold front around New Years…we shall see what they think tomorrow!

Hmm…will it be warm and sunny or warm and wet on Christmas Day? Most are leaning towards warm and sunny, with any rain falling on Tuesday. We shall see!
