Since it is sizzling hot again with very little chance of rain over the next week, how about we talk about hurricane season? As of this afternoon, we have our fifth storm (Ernesto) who will likely just spin around the Atlantic, although there will be quite a few islands potentially impacted by Ernesto.

From the NHC: A Tropical Storm Warning is in effect for...
* St. Kitts, Nevis, Montserrat, Antigua, Barbuda, and Anguilla
* Guadeloupe
* St. Martin and St. Barthelemy
* Sint Maarten
* British Virgin Islands
* U.S. Virgin Islands
* Puerto Rico
* Vieques
* Culebra

While Ernesto poses no impact for Texas, we are entering into one of the busiest times for hurricanes, with the peak of the season within the next 30 days. I still think this will go down as a very busy season, so I expect a lot more activity over the next month...now, whether the storms will enter the Gulf, depends upon on whether our high pressure moves or loses its strength!

I have posted a lot of cool graphics from the NHC below and one graphic for our rain odds over the next 7 days from the NWS.

Enjoy!

Mark
