Scattered storms over the next four days…
7-24-24. 3pm. This Update is brought to you by Dietz-McLean Optical. www.dmoptical.com
As I type this post, a small cell has finally found our home in SW CO, after four days of missing us. It just dropped a quick 0.40 in 15 minutes! For those of you missing out on our recent rain event, I feel your pain!
Looking at the latest radar imagery, I am feeling a little more confident that some of you who have been missing the recent rains will get lucky over the next four days, as I see a lot of scattered activity this afternoon. While these storms are not large, with our high Precipitable Water numbers nearing or exceeding 2 inches, these slow-moving cells can drop a lot of rain quickly! There is some very tropic air south of a HWY 90 to Houston line.
Best odds for rain today are in south Texas and the coastal plains, but we will see that area enlarge to the NW a bit tomorrow. Check out the latest Excessive Rain and Surface forecast maps below. Scattered rain odds will continue through Monday, until high pressure builds back in from the east.
Looking further down the road, the tropics remain quiet, although the latest EURO model wants to bring something into the Carribean the first week of August...we shall see.
